Corporate Social Responsibility

In Inversiones las Chumecas S.A. our CSR arises as a token of gratitude to our collaborators and their communities. We care about the well-being of our employees and neighboring communities, which is why we actively collaborate in providing fair and safe working conditions, guaranteeing compliance with labor rights.

Fair and Ethical Trade: Our CSR involves making sure coffee farmers receive a fair price for their product and promoting transparent and ethical business relationships throughout the supply chain.

Additionally, we actively participate within the communities of influence of our farms in activities that promote education, sports, health and safety.

Potable water donations

During the dry season, the community of Guaimaca suffers with the supply of drinking water. Our CSR director seeks to supply water to people who need this vital liquid.

Approaches have been made with the local authorities to provide a viable solution to the problem of water scarcity.

Sponsorship for Sports

Inversiones Las Chumecas is constantly supporting the educational centers of Guaimaca, donating uniforms to support students in their sports activities and competitions.

On this occasion, the uniforms were donated to the soccer team of the José de la Rosa Rodríguez Technical Institute.

Sports uniforms are donated annually to all educational centers with the greatest community influence.

Support to the Police

We are committed to the safety and well-being of our community. We recognize the importance of the work that the police do to maintain order and protect our citizens. As a show of support and appreciation, we have carried out a donation of equipment and motorcycles to the local police.

We understand that having the right equipment is essential to carry out the job safely and successfully.

Donation of food to our collaborators

As a gesture of solidarity and support, we have implemented a food donation program for our employees with lower economic resources. We understand the importance of taking care of our coffee family and ensuring that each member feels supported and taken care of during challenging times.

Donations During Hurricanes ETA and IOTA

Hurricanes Eta and Iota are the most severe natural phenomena that have affected Honduras in over 20 years. On November 3, 2020, Hurricane Eta hit, followed by Hurricane Iota on November 16, 2020.

In support and solidarity with the victims of these natural disasters, Inversiones Las Chumecas said, "We are here" and mobilized donations of provisions to be delivered to the hundreds of victims in the shelters.

Assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic, we extended our assistance beyond our facilities. We worked in collaboration with local organizations and coffee communities to provide aid in times of need. This included donating medical supplies, personal protective equipment, and food to support those affected and frontline healthcare workers combating the pandemic.
